Committed to education, advancing the field, and advancing member careers, community, and their life.

For over 40 years, the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has been the leading professional association in the solid waste field in North America. Our association serves over 11,000 members nationally and thousands more with conferences, certifications and publications.

SWANA has trained thousands in today's trends and tomorrow's emerging technologies. The foundation for our effort is rooted in 7 technical divisions. These divisions are made up of professionals who want to network and learn from their colleagues. Technical Division Members are keenly interested in shaping the future of their fields. Each division is led by volunteers who work on everything from setting the technical sessions at their division's annual symposium, to making sure that their voices are heard by elected officials.

Our commitment to education is not only about advancing our field, it's also about advancing your career, your community, and your life.
